Ronnie Hazelwood, known as Masonry Man, is a second-generation mason with deep roots in Lebanon, KY. His work is admired and respected in his hometown and throughout Central Kentucky, where he helps families build solid foundations for their homes and dream projects. As an entrepreneur, Ronnie’s journey has been far from conventional — he's taken the lessons from his past and turned them into a blueprint for success.
Masonry has a long history in Black communities, with many African Americans being skilled tradespeople, especially in the post-Reconstruction era. The industry itself, however, remains predominantly white, with Black Masons facing barriers to entry and a lack of representation. Ronnie’s journey as a Black mason not only honors that legacy but also speaks to the resilience and determination that Black entrepreneurs continually display, often overcoming significant systemic challenges.
After spending several years building his business, Ronnie, like many Black entrepreneurs, faced financial mismanagement challenges that are all too common among small business owners. However, in 2024, he realized the importance of having a structured business plan and the right support to take his business to the next level.
