Lex Project Prom (Asona McMullen)
Industry:
Nonprofit, Education, Community Outreach
Background:
Asona McMullen, a college friend, corporate marketing expert, and serial entrepreneur, is the driving force behind Lex Project Prom, a nonprofit organization in Lexington, KY. Asona’s dedication to serving diverse and underserved students has made Lex Project Prom an indispensable resource for high school seniors in the area. Her work goes far beyond providing free prom attire — she creates a full, inclusive prom experience, ensuring that all students, regardless of financial background, get the chance to feel special.
Lex Project Prom hosts an annual event where students receive brand-new dresses, tuxedos, shoes, and accessories, along with a complete beauty experience, including hair and makeup vouchers. In addition, Asona partners with local organizations to provide transportation and dinner gift certificates. The event is designed to feel exclusive and luxurious, ensuring that every student experiences prom as a special, memorable occasion. The organization also gives back in many other ways, including awarding an annual scholarship and supporting students through their transition from high school to college.

Lex Project Prom’s mission of accessibility, inclusivity, and providing a comprehensive experience for students has grown significantly over the years. As the organization continues to expand, Asona needed strategic support to ensure that their online presence and marketing efforts kept up with the growth. With plans to expand their reach and enhance the experience for students and their families, Lex Project Prom required a partner who could assist with web design, content creation, event support, and fundraising efforts.
